Alongside the winning photos presented during the emblematic event of the Montreal cultural season, Magalie Lépine-Blondeau, spokesperson for the 2023 exhibition, will present her carte blanche commission entitled Ailleurs (Elsewhere).

Magalie Lépine-Blondeau invites visitors to plunge into the intimacy of moments of exchange and beauty with people she has met in some 15 countries. In images and text, her large-format exhibition entitled Ailleurs (Elsewhere) transports us to five continents.

“I’ve always loved the attentive, sensitive eye that lingers to see, to understand, to capture beauty, the ephemeral, the Other. Part of my job is to exist through and in this eye, and when I photograph people who cross my path, I try to give them the tender, respectful look I’d like them to give me. I see in each of these portraits a trust, an exchange beyond words. Photography gives these sometimes-fleeting moments something eternal. So I humbly share with you what I’ve been lucky enough to witness. Snippets of my life, of my lives, elsewhere.”
