The World Press Photo Montreal exhibition’s team is already working on the 17th edition of this major international exhibition, often compared to the Oscars of photography. The event will be presented in Montreal, from August 28 to October 14, 2024, at the Bonsecours Market in Old Montreal.

16th edition : over 66 000 visitors at the World Press Photo Montreal exhibition

The World Press Photo Montreal exhibition presented the 126 winning photos and series from the world’s most prestigious photojournalism competition, as well as six complementay exhibitions. The World Press Photo Montreal exhibition welcomed over 66 000 visitors from August 30 to October 15, including nearly 9000 from school groups.

The emblematic event of the Montreal cultural season continues to be a success, having won its bet to reduce the peaks in attendance that have prevailed in recent years. “By extending the exhibition by 2 weeks this year, in addition to redesigning part of the itinerary, we were able to spread out the traffic and significantly improve the visitor experience. Another positive factor is that school groups and tourists have never been so numerous,” points out Yann Fortier, General Manager of the Montreal event.
